SOUTH EAST BUSINESS BOOST IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS

South East Business Boost (SEBB) has secured support for businesses in Essex from the European Regional Development Funding (ERDF). SEBB is specifically targeted at small to medium sized businesses or start-ups in the South East (SELEP) area who are seeking to grow their business. Grants between £1,000 and £10,000 are available and can fund up to 30% of the total cost of eligible goods and services. The grant can contribute to the purchase of a wide range of goods and services related to increasing sales, improving productivity and boosting profitability. Grant applications will be assessed within four weeks of being submitted and funding will be provided retrospectively against evidence of payments for approved items. CLAIM £1000 FUNDING TOWARDS AN APPRENTICE

Brentwood Borough Council in partnership with ACL (AdultCommunity Learning) have developed the Brentwood Apprentice Programme to help support local employers. This provides funding opportunities for young adults looking to gain a qualification whilst earning. We are looking for twelve local businesses who will each be able to claim £1000 towards an apprentice, subject to eligibility criteria. To find out more please visit:

   
   

BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY - SUMMER EVENTS 2017

Would your business like to be involved in Brentwood summer events? Every year, thousands of visitors enjoy Brentwood’s annual community events. The Strawberry Fair on 17th June includes stalls, food and drink, family activities and entertainment. Six Family Fun Days will also run every Friday during the school holidays across the Borough. These incredibly affordable events are extremely popular with local families, attracting thousands every year. TOWN CENTRE DESIGN PLAN & TOWN HALL TRANSFORMATION

On the 17 & 18 March, Brentwood Borough Council showcased their proposed plans of the Town Centre and Town Hall Transformation to the public. The event allowed the public to view and discuss the proposals with staff of Brentwood Borough Council. ESSEX CORPORATE HOTEL AND CONFERENCING FACILITIES STUDY

Essex County Council has commissioned consultants Hotel Solutions and Qa Research to undertake a study to assess the extent to which Essex companies are facing problems in securing the quality of hotel accommodation and conferencing facilities that they require and the need for new hotels and conference venues to satisfy their requirements. The study will include a telephone survey of companies across the County in April and May. LOCASE - LOW CARBON ACROSS THE SOUTH EAST - BUSINESS GRANTS & ADVICE

The EU funded LOCASE project can provide businesses with match funded grants of up to £10,000 to help cover the cost of energy efficiency measures for any small or medium business and help businesses in the low carbon sector to expand. Grants can help purchase equipment and machinery, pay for research and development, marketing and website development and business development consultancy. SUPERFAST BROADBAND FOR BRENTWOOD BUSINESSES

Essex County Council is leading the Superfast Essex Broadband project, which is being rolled out across the County. The investment will improve the broadband infrastructure available for Brentwood businesses. The aim is for 90% of the County to have access to Superfast Broadband of more than 24Mbs by 2019. GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT BRENTWOOD'S RURAL BUSINESSES

£1.8 million grant funding is available until 2020 from the Essex Rivers LEADER European programme. The eligible areas for this programme include rural parts of Brentwood, Colchester, Chelmsford, Braintree, Rochford and Maldon local authority areas. The programme is open to farmers, foresters, small holders, rural businesses (micro and small) and rural communities. Applicants can apply for grants of a minimum £10,000 to a maximum of £100,000, subject to meeting the criteria. For more information please visit:

FOOD HYGIENE TRAINING

Do you need to refresh your food hygiene knowledge? Was your Level 2 Food Hygiene Course 3 years ago or more? If so Brentwood Borough Council can offer you a CIEH Level 2 Award Course in Food Safety to provide you with an understanding of the importance of safety procedures and reporting; effective personal hygiene to food safety; keeping work areas clean and hygienic; identifying sources and risks for food safety and how to keep food safe.
