Unique in its field, the 2017 “Security, Democracy & Cities” international conference (Barcelona, 15-17 November) will offer an opportunity for stakeholders in urban security to debate and reflect together upon security policies for two and a half days. In addition to workshops, panel sessions and field visits, this event will include three plenary sessions: “From cooperation to co-production - 30 years of local urban security policies” (Wednesday 15), “A cross-sector approach to respond to the complexity of urban security - Which actors and tools around local elected officials?” and “The commitment of local and regional authorities for inclusive and sustainable security - Adoption of the Manifesto and crossed perspectives” (Friday 17). The Executive Committee welcomes its new Vice President and four new members
During the General Assembly Meeting in Rimini (Italy) on 18 May, the City of Amiens (France, pop. 306,000), represented by Clément Stengel, Deputy Mayor in charge of security, was elected Vice President, a position it shares with the City of Rotterdam (Netherlands), the Crime Prevention Council of Lower Saxony (Germany) and the Government of Catalonia (Spain).
