Olivia, Rustica, Josh, Claudio and Founder Friday panel

Dear ,

Well I didn’t expect to be doing so much travelling this year, but it seems to be panning out that way with incoming opportunities all the time. (Not that I got to South Africa because the SA Embassy lost my passport with the visa in it. Seriously! And it has never turned up! For those of you who are friends on Facebook you probably followed my saga).

I did however get to the Docebo Dubai office with the team and it was great.  Good meetings that I was there for, but also great to build closer connections with the team. And being open plan office, just soak up the knowledge and ask 120 questions over dinners, lunches and car rides. And yes, I went on the world’s longest flight, 17.5 hours with Qatar.  Great service but I must say, the AirNZ planes are nicer.

The Fast Forward Summit I attended in Brisbane was fantastic, and great to be with my Entrepreneurial tribe. I have been a part of this community for 10 years and always credit the success of Bloom to what I have learnt through courses, mentoring and connections there. If you are in sales, L&D, or a leadership team and want to build your business acumen, or interested in tech and business trends, do check out the event in Auckland in July. If you are a manager and interested in helping your team build their business acumen and understand the latest tech and business trends, contact me about getting a table. Tickets start at $39 for 2 value packed days! And check out some of these success stories.

The travel won’t let up! We have a new Christchurch based Docebo client, the Docebo Partners conference is in Milan in June (I know tough gig but someone has to do it!) and Melbourne also in June for the Fast Forward Summit. Then in August we are launching eLearnz eLab in Sydney with the lovely Nigel Paine as our MC.

The great thing about all of this, apart from bringing great connections, content and tools back to New Zealand, is I get trapped on a plane and Nicki doesn’t have to nag me any more about writing the newsletter!

Have a great month ahead,

Keep shining brightly

Rustica

  THIS MONTH'S GIVEAWAY

The give away this month is for parents with children between 12 and 19 who want to help their children understand their natural talents to help them build confidence and self worth. It is the Talent Dynamics for Young People, which is usually $97 USD, but for this community it is free.

Ok so it’s not L&D related. But it is related to a global project I am involved in with Entrepreneurs Institute, bringing Genius Schools to the world to help deal with the problem of an antiquated and industrial age education system that doesn't prepare teenagers for the rapid changing world. We do have plans for a Kapiti based school, but we are also working with partners in Thailand, South Africa and Ghana. Our first steps are micro lessons and a weekend super camp to start to build this community.

My purpose is to help transform the education system, so that our children can lead meaningful, purposeful and enriched lives. And as I tell my 10-year-old daughter, so that they can use their passions and talents to make a difference.

  TECH TOOL

Freesound

As well a great time in the Docebo office in Dubai this month, I picked up some great tech tools from Dario, one of the Account Execs (and famous DJ).

This tool allows you to add a YouTube clip to it and then download it. Once you have done that, you can edit it in a video-editing tool such as Camtasia or iMovie.

For our Docebo users, one of the things we are covering at the next Docebo users conference is adding video to the home page of your platform (although not so important if you are using single sign on)

  WHO'S AVAILABLE

With over 5 years in the business of learning solutions, recruitment and elearning,

Bloom are specialists in the L&D industry.  As a result we have a vast network of talented L&D professionals whom we can recommend.  We know who is actively looking in the L&D market.  And we also know those who aren’t actively looking, but are still open to new opportunities.

We have some great candidates that are available in the next month, click here to see the full list on our website

  EVENTS

We have some great events planned for the next few months. In April our topic for Cyber Chats with Lead Learners is Retaining Work Based knowledge of the Ageing Workforce and the following month's Tech Talk is on how New Zealand companies are doing this and the tools they are using.

We have the popular Docebo Users Conference for our Docebo community to come and learn better ways of using their LMS from sharing knowledge. Of course people considering a new LMS or changing their old clunky one are also welcome to see New Zealand’s fastest growing LMS product. Auckland and Wellington.

And the popular eLearnz conference, New Zealand’s only elearning conference is coming up too in August and again we will have Nigel Paine MCing, key noting and having dinner with our VIP's. This will be followed by a 1-day eLearnz elab. Come along and learn Storyline (introduction), Prezi, Freesound and video editing.

As it is conference year, we will be hosting New Zealand's best of the best eLearning awards on 1st August, so make sure you start thinking about what great projects you could enter.

So keep an eye out on social media as the events go live.
