Asia Smart Apps Award 2017

To recognise the excellence of innovative smart app development and provide a platform for top smart app professionals in the region to meet, share, collaborate and learn from each other, WTIA presented the Asia Smart App Awards 2017 (previously known as Asia Smart Apps Contest). 

 In its 5th year, its scale has expanded to having 4 new co-organisers in Asia regions, including Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. In addition to the Asia Smart App Summit, a Presentation Ceremony cum Gala Diner was also organised and winners had the opportunity to share their wining app with guests. Below are the recaps of some of our key events:

Industry Survey on Hong Kong Mobile Apps Industry 2017

The Survey is conducted yearly as part of the Asia Smart App Awards 2017, running on its 4th edition. Results of the Survey reveal that the local mobile app industry is getting mature as the number of companies operating for six or more years has drastically increased from 22% last year to 50% this year. Startups have also become considerably more well-established with an increase in founders aged 25 and above (23%) and in founders with five or more years of work experience (13%).

Asia Smart App Summit 2017 (29 June)

The Summit gathered experts in the smart app industry around Asia to share their experience and insights. Representatives from the 12 co-organisers of the Award talked about the development of app industry in their countries and gave audience a full picture of the app ecosystem in Asia.

Retail Innovation Summit 2017 (7 July)

無綫電產品測試 業界專題說明會 及「電磁兼容科技中心」和「無綫電測試中心」參觀 (13 July)

由香港零售科技商會主辦,第三屆「零售創新峰會」將於7月6日舉行,本年度的主題是「新零售時代的挑戰及機遇」。峰會旨在促進業界交流,分享領袖智慧,為香港零售業出謀獻策。是次峰會邀請多位嘉賓主講分享。嘉賓將從不同角度探討零售業界如何發揮靈活變通的特質,迎難而上。大企業變革知易行難,中小企資源亦有限,如何部署投資迎接新零售時代?希望是次峰會幫零售業界找到答案。

"Internet of Vehicles" Business Exchange Trip to Shenzhen (21-23 June)

The Seminar shared trends of smart transportation and how it is changing our daily life. Guest Speakers also imparted the latest news, business opportunities and the difficulties developers may encounter in Internet of Vehicle industry. (More photos can be viewed here)

Co-organized with Hong Kong Productivity Council, we held the third trip for the IoV project. During the tour, participants visited the major IoV sectors in China, exchanged ideas about development of Intelligence vehicles and intelligence transport with the industry experts in Shenzhen-Hong Kong Networking Seminar on Internet-of-Vehicle.
