The first edition of Busworld Latin America turned out to be a success - La primera edición de Busworld Latin America resultó ser un éxito
From 5 to 7 December 2016, Busworld organised its very first edition of Busworld Latin America. The exhibition took place in the Plaza Mayor in Medellin, the second biggest city in Colombia.
Del 5 al 7 de diciembre de 2016, Busworld organizó su primera edición de Busworld Latin America. La exposición tuvo lugar en la Plaza Mayor de Medellín, la segunda ciudad más grande de Colombia.
With 61 exhibitors coming from 16 different countries from all over the world, Busworld Latin America was ready to host its 2,640 visitors. It was the best first edition ever in the Busworld history.
Con 61 expositores procedentes de 16 países diferentes de todo el mundo, Busworld Latin America pudo acoger a sus 2.640 visitantes. Fue la mejor primera edición de la historia de Busworld.
In total, 32 vehicles were presented on a total surface of 6,600 sqm. by Daimler, Scania, GM Isuzu, Busscar, Volvo, Golden Dragon, Inconcar, Megabuses, Otokar, Carrocerias JGB, Dina, Orion, Agrale, NPU etc.
A brief and far from complete impression of these vehicles: Scania launched a world premiere, the first bi-articulated bus powered by a euro VI CNG engine; Isuzu presented the ERGA CNG bus with low entry; Marcopolo did not have a dedicated booth, but was present via other vehicles in the exhibition, like the eco version of the Gran Viale of Mercedes-Benz; Megabuses presented its midibuses Megax and Megax Uno; Inconcar chose to show their Dreamliner; Carrocerias JGB brought their Majestic double decker and meanwhile Daimler was drawing a lot of attention with a rotating chassis in their booth.
En total, 32 vehículos se presentaron en una superficie total de 6.600 metros cuadrados. Por Daimler, Scania, GM Isuzu, Busscar, Volvo, DINA Orion, Dragón Dorado, Agrale, Inconcar, Megabuses, Otokar, Carrocerias JGB, Agrale, IVECO, etc.
Una impresión breve y no completa de estos vehículos: Scania lanzó un estreno mundial, el primer autobús bi-articulado impulsado por un motor Euro VI CNG; Isuzu presentó el autobús ERGA CNG con acceso de baja entrada; Marcopolo no tenía un stand dedicado, pero estaba presente a través de otros vehículos en la exposición, como la versión ecológica de la Gran Viale de Mercedes-Benz; Megabuses presentó sus midibuses Megax y Megax Uno; Inconcar eligió mostrar su Dreamliner; Carrocerias JGB trajo su Majestic de dos pisos, Volvo presentaba modelo híbrido, DINA presentó sus modelos a CNG, Megabuses mostró sus nuevos vehículos para intercity y mientras tanto Daimler estaba atrayendo mucha atención con un chasis giratorio en su stand.
Also from the suppliers’ and accessories’ side, important names like Fasching, Hanover Displays, Voith, Funtoro, Aesys, Songz, Janlir, Actia, Dhollandia, Soltecmo, Transtec, Allison Transmission, Espumatec Upic, Good luck, Faicsa, Jaque, Sunviautoand many more have presented their latest products.
También desde el lado de los proveedores y accesorios, importantes nombres como Fasching, Hanover Displays, Voith, Funtoro, Aesys, Songz, Janlir, Actia, Dhollandia, Soltecmo, Transtec, Allison Transmission, Espumatec Upic, Good luck, Faicsa, Jaque, Sunviauto y muchos más han presentado sus últimos productos.
All exhibitors, both vehicle manufacturers as well as suppliers, expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the visitors. They all made some good deals at the exhibition or have some interesting leads to continue to work on afterwards.
Todos los expositores, tanto fabricantes de vehículos como proveedores, expresaron su satisfacción con la calidad de los visitantes. Muchos hicieron algunas buenas ofertas en la exposición o tienen algunos contactos interesantes para seguir trabajando más adelante.
Since Busworld International's head quarters is located in Belgium, the Busworld team was honoured to welcome the Belgian federal minister of mobility, François Bellot at their exhibition. The minister opened the exhibition and also took the stand during the Busworld Academy Congress. He was amazed by the high level of intermodality that the City of Medellin achieved with its multi modal system, combining buses, the Metroplus BRT, taxis, trams and even the metrocables. No wonder Medellin received the Sustainable Transport Award in 2012.
Desde que la sede principal de Busworld International se encuentra en Bélgica, el equipo de Busworld Latin America tuvo el honor de dar la bienvenida al ministro belga de la Movilidad, François Bellot, en su exposición. El ministro inaguró la exposición y también abrió el Congreso de la Academia Busworld. Se sorprendió por el alto nivel de intermodalidad que alcanzó la ciudad de Medellín, combinando autobuses, Metroplus BRT, taxis, tranvías e incluso los metrocables. No es de extrañar que Medellín recibiera el Premio al Transporte Sostenible en 2012.
As usual, the conference programme next to the Busworld exhibition was hosted by Busworld Academy. The ‘Future Oriented Bus & Coach Transport in Latin America’ congress addressed different topics such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and integrated multi modal public transport, zero emission buses, safety in bus and coach and last but not least coach tourism. The conference was very well attended, each of the sessions had a full room of participants. Jan Deman, Director of Busworld Academy, was very pleased. "We even got requests to repeat the same congress in the neighbouring countries!", he added. All presentations are available on the Busworld Academy website.
Como de costumbre, el programa de la conferencia junto a la exposición Busworld fue organizado por la Academia Busworld. El congreso "Transporte Orientado al Futuro para Autobuses y Autocares en América Latina" abordó diferentes temas como el Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) y el transporte público multimodal integrado, los autobuses de cero emisiones, la seguridad en autobuses y autocares. La conferencias fueron muy concurridas, cada una de las sesiones tuvo una sala llena de participantes. Jan Deman, director de la Academia Busworld, estaba muy contento. "Incluso recibimos pedidos para repetir el mismo congreso en los países vecinos!", Agregó. Todas las presentaciones están disponibles en el sitio web de la Academia Busworld.
Based on these experiences, Busworld decided to organise the next Busworld Latin America already in the coming year, 2017. The exact dates will be communicated as soon as possible. The location will remain the same: Plaza Mayor exhibition center in Medellin, the city of multi modal public transport.
Basado en esta magnífica experiencia, Busworld decidió organizar el próximo Busworld Latin America para finales del próximo año 2017. Las fechas exactas serán comunicadas lo antes posible. La ubicación seguirá siendo la misma: Plaza Mayor centro de Exposiciones en Medellín, la ciudad de transporte público multimodal.
