News from swissnex in New York

May 2016

Dear Friend of swissnex,

Spring has brought some fresh wind to our office in New York City! We've settled in a new corner of WeWork Charging Bull, gave our walls a Swiss-themed makeover, and welcomed Oliver Jutzi, our new Junior Project Manager on board. So we're all set for a busy time head!

This week we're bringing Swiss art and design to the area! ECAL - the University of Art and Design in Lausanne - exhibits their explorations of glass titled Heart of Glass at Wanted Design NYC in Brooklyn. While in town, Camille Blin, one of the exhibition's scenographers, will be talking as one of three speakers at Grassy Lectures III this Friday, also in Brooklyn. Grab your (free) ticket now!

On the startup front, we received exciting news from Flatev, the makers of the Tortilla machine! Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, they've launched a Kickstarter campaign to get their device into production. Back them now and be one of the first owners of their artisan tortilla makers!

And there is more on the horizon: Solar Impulse II has taken up their round-the-world flight again, and after completing the legs from Hawaii to California and from California to Phoenix, AZ, they're only a couple stops away from bringing their big clean tech adventure to New York!

June will see the arrival of the Venture Leaders TECH - 10 Swiss startups coming to the city for a week of company visits, meetings, coaching, events and more. This year's Northside Festival will give you the chance to meet our entrepreneurs, and just like last year, we will host a public pitch competition. Stay connected for more info!

Lastly, have a look at the network-wide swisnex annual report 2015, all digital and featuring stories from our offices all around the globe!

Thank you for your ongoing support,
Your swissnex team in New York
